Biography:

The Winter Soldier, as portrayed in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), is James Buchanan "Bucky" Barnes. His first appearance was in the Movie *Captain America: The First Avenger* (2011) as Captain America's childhood friend. Presumed dead during World War II, he was captured and experimented on by Hydra.

Brainwashed and augmented with a metal arm, Bucky became a highly skilled assassin known as the Winter Soldier. Active for decades, he was responsible for numerous deaths and destabilizing global events. He was eventually freed from Hydra's control with the help of Captain America.

In *Avengers: Infinity War*, Bucky is living a quiet life in Wakanda. He joins the battle against Thanos's forces and is last seen disintegrating after Thanos snaps his fingers with the Infinity Gauntlet.
